The Powersoft Business Group of Sybase, Inc. provides application developers with innovative tools and "new workplace" database products designed to facilitate the deployment of business applications throughout an organization. The Powersoft Business Group is comprised of multiple product divisions and includes development, marketing, sales, customer service and other support functions tailored to its business.

The Powersoft Business Group is responsible for the following product lines:

· The PowerBuilder  family of scaleable, open development tools for client/server and      
   Internet applications,

· Workplace database products, including Sybase SQL Anywhere,

· Visual Components application development components,

· S-Designor database design and modeling tools,

· High-performance languages, including Watcom C/C++ and Powersoft Optima++.

PowerBuilder -- the market-leading multiplatform application development tool that enables developers to deploy high-performance, distributed applications throughout their organizations. PowerBuilder combines an intuitive graphical interface with an extensible object-oriented programming language. It provides native connectivity to leading client/server databases and connects to other server and desktop databases through robust Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) support.

The latest release of PowerBuilder, versions 5.0, features distributed objects, increased multiplatform support, compiled code and new Internet capabilities that enable users to add Internet functionality to their existing client/server applications and to create new Internet-specific applications.

PowerBuilder 5.0 for Windows is available in three editions: Desktop, Professional and Enterprise. PowerBuilder is also available for UNIX and Macintosh platforms. All versions of PowerBuilder are based on common source code to provide consistency across platforms.
