Title: Scanned images result in core dump

Date: June 26, 1995

Problem:

After a scan of an image larger than 64Mb, Pixel!FX hangs or produces a core dump.

Cause:

HP/UX systems typically limit the amount of virtual memory that a user can use to 64Mb.

Solution:

  1. Use HP/UX's sam command and modify the kernel parameter /masdsiz.
  2. Increase this value so a user will have at least double the amount needed for the scanned image.
