Easy Software Products (ESP) announces a significant breakthrough for desktop
printing with its release of ESP Print 3.1.18, featuring Adobe PostScript®
printing to non-postscript printers like the EPSON® Stylus Color and Hewlett- Packard DeskJet series printers. ESP Print no longer requires IRIS Impressario for printing of any type of file, making ESP Print the most cost effective
solution on the SGI market today. Version 3.1.18 also includes a new online
User's Guide, greatly simplified printer installation tools, driver-level
LPD/LPR and MS Windows network printer support, and custom page sizes up
to 150 feet in length for the HP DesignJet, ENCAD® NovaJet®, and Calcomp® TechJET® and Solus plotters.
ESP Print is a collection of high-quality printer drivers for Silicon Graphics
workstations that supports over 500 printers. ESP Print is seamlessly integrated
with the Indigo Magic environment, providing drag and drop printing from the desktop. ESP Print
uses the standard IRIX (lp) printing interface to provide compatibility with applications such
as Showcase and FrameMaker® 4. ESP Print also provides a screen hardcopy program that
prints windows or screens with a keypress. For maximum output control, options
are provided for print quality, color saturation, color hue, gamma correction,
brightness correction, media type, and so forth.
ESP Print supports serial, parallel (Centronics and HP BiTronics), SCSI, and network interfaces and hosts supporting the JetDirect, LPR/LPD, or MS Windows TCP/IP protocols.
ESP Print support the following file formats:
ESP Print requires IRIX 5.2 or higher and at least 32 megabytes of RAM. The CJ-10 scanner driver requires IRIS Impressario 1.2. The printer drivers do not require IRIS Impressario. ESP Print is compatible with IRIX 6.2.
