Re-Engineering reduces the time to deveop NURBS surface data from existing products or clay models.
The process begins with digitized data from existing CMM data, or data translated through IGES from other 3-D digitizers. Once users import the data, the re-engineering module engages its unique "datacloud" feature. After you define specific surface boundaries, this feature fits a surface through the cloud of data. The software also provides evaluation and modification analysis tools that optimize the operation and refine the fit of the NURBS surfaces to the digitized points.
Once your surface data is established, you can pass it to complimentary CAD/CAM systems such as Pro/ENGINEERING®, CATIA®, SDRC®, and CAMAX. Re-engineering is a stand-alone module, stemming from its core package - Design Concept 3D, from Computer Design, Inc.
