GAPLESS is a device driver that allows the "gapless" 9-track mag tapes created by the geophysical and other industries to be read on the SGI platform. All standard utilities and user-written programs may be thereby used to read long block tapes.
GAPLESS runs on SGI machines running IRIX 5.x. and 6.x, and which are equipped with an M4 9914 9-track tape drive. This tape drive is an SGI-approved GoldSeal product.
