Open ACCLIM8 reduces the effort of moving Fortran applications to open systems by providing unprecedented features for adapting VAX applications to UNIX®. Open ACCLIM8 resolves most unsupported VAX Fortran features. It performs all the compiling and linking steps, including everything needed to use Open LIBR8.
Type checking is performed on arguments passed to intrinsic functions and the VMS® routines provided by Open LIBR8. Open ACCLIM8 also provides indexed file support, a feature not present in most UNIX® Fortran compilers. In all cases, Open ACCLIM8 maintains the functionality of the original program. Open ACCLIM8 is used by programmers to port VAX Fortran programs reliably.
