Open COBOL is a VAX COBOL pre-compiler that automates the migration of VAX COBOL application code from Digital's proprietary VMS® environment to Open Systems. Open COBOL is a source code that reads VAX COBOL and generates intermediate COBOL code that will then accurately and fully compile by the target UNIX® COBOL compiler. Fully compatible with the powerful VAX COBOL environment, Open COBOL will ensure that existing application and user-interface functionality is preserved.
