The Sierra 1.3 Gigabyte optical hard drive is a high performance magneto optical drive based on Pinnacle's OHD (Optical Hard Drive) technology. The sierra has a 19 millisecond effective access time, a fast data throughput of 2.0 megabytes per second and a rotation speed of 4500 RPM.

Pinnacle's new Sierra utilizes removable optical media for unlimited capacity and provides the speed of magnetic hard disk technology. The Sierra is ideal for general data storage or data intensive applications such as digital audio/video, multimedia, imaging, desktop publishing, prepress or data archiving.

The Sierra can hold up to 1.3GB of mass storage on a single cartridge and complies with ECMA standards for data interchangeability. Each removable disk has shelf life of 30 years for data security and is the ultimate in reliability for mass data storage. The Sierra also has the ability to read and write 650 Megabyte ISO/ANSI standard media, affording full backward compatibility.
