Lan Based Universal I/O Controller for Data Acquisition and Control

The VMIVME-9300 Series is a networked universal I/O controller (UIOC) designed to support a variety of target processors. Current products include support for the 680X0, VAX-on-VME, and SPARC family of microprocessors. The UIOC includes VMIC firmware and optional host software that provides an effective "turnkey" I/O subsystem when coupled with a variety of VMIC I/O boards, chassis, backplanes, bus repeaters, power supplies, etc. Using a general-purpose, high-level language, the UIOC can scan inputs, update outputs, execute user-selectable engineering unit conversions and calculations, and supports built-in test for a subset of VMIC BITMODULES (a subset of VMIC I/O boards that support off-line and on-line fault detection and isolation).
