The Avalon atpsc tape driver is an enhanced version of the standard Silicon Graphics tpsc driver. The standard driver provides the Small Computer System Interface for various tape devices on IRIX Computer Platforms.
The aptsc driver extends the SCSi interface offered by the tpsc driver, to the STK 4480/90 peripherals.
In addition, the atpsc driver provides access to the STK vendor unique high-speed locate functionality, and allows access to the data compression mode defined by the STK tape controllers.
The atpsc driver is a seperately loadable driver and does not replace the standard tpsc driver.
