The EXB-8205XL is an enhanced half-height 8mm digital helical-scan cartridge tape subsystem in the 5.25-inch half-high form factor. The new eXtended length data-grade 8mm media (160m) provides an uncompressed capacity of 3.5 GB per cartridge. The EXB-8205XL offers sustained transfer rates of up to 263 kilobytes per second. Ease of integration and application development are assured with an electronically erasable PROM. Other significant features include filemarks, complete arbitration support, multi-host support, variable block packing, LED time-to-clean, LED compression indicators and full read/write compatibility with EXB-8200.
