The Visible Human CD is the world's first complete digital reference of photo images for exploring human anatomy, enabling medical researchers and practitioners to compare clinical data with reference images for insight, diagnosis, and education. It gives ready access to more than 10,000 axial, coronal, and sagittal slices of a human male, all compressed to fit on a single CD-ROM. Magnetic resonance (MR) images in T1, T2, and proton density forms and registered computed tomography (CT) images allow views of the entire human male in multiple modalities, while Research Systems' easy-to-use Navigator can concurrently display selected multiple slices in any orientation or modality at the level of resolution specified.
