CONTEX RIP'n'STRIP® provides an efficient, automatic PostScript production path for catalog, publication, and general commercial color pages. RIP'n'STRIP reads a PostScript page, handles high-resolution CT picture replacement, auto-traps CT's, illustrations, and text, and sends jobs to image setters and film recorders automatically.
Continuous tone (CT) images can be imported and exported in most popular file formats, including, Scitex, Hell, Crosfield, TIFF, Handshake Illustrator, and DDES. Low-resolution position-only CT's are sent to the desktop for page assembly, then automatically replaced (OPI) with high-resolution CT's when Contex RIP'n'STRIP produces plotter-ready files for the imagesetter.
* Now features for 1995 include additive and subtractive ghosting, automatic drop shadows with feathering, automatic vectorization of lineart for scalability, and chooser level print spooling from Macintosh for automatic PostScript production workflow.
