DotBox II is an incredibly fast screening engine that can plot Contex files to imagesetters by Agfa and ECPM. DotBox II is based on Harlequin Harpoon screening card on board realizing unprecedented imaging speeds. The system comes configured with 16Mb memory, 1 Gbyte disk drive, and a color monitor. Harlequin Harpoon screening card offers incredible hardware screening speeds unrivaled by simpler software based screening RIPS. The Harpoon card takes a Contex file as RLE (run length encoded), and blasts the data to the imaging engine. Tests have shown that the Harpoon keeps up with the imaging engines, allowing them to image at their fastest speeds. The user will have the option of conventional Harlequin screen frequencies, or the latest Harlequin Stochastic screening algorithms. Elegant icon based Contex user interface, using the new Contex PlotMan for screening control. The DotBox II will also provide the Harlequin Level 2 PostScript RIP for plotting files from the Mac.
