Contex File Exchange (CFX) is a new user interface for importing and exporting files to and from Contex. It is offered as a standalone product on any Indy, or Indigo 2 Silicon Graphics workstation. It comes bundled with several file formats including Contex Archive, TIFF, and Handshake. Other formats are available a la carte. The user simply selects a file(s), selects the destination format, and converts them in the background of the powerful SGI computer workstation or server.
Contex File Exchange (CFX) is an exciting new graphic user interface (GUI) for Contex and SGI systems. It enables the user to easily convert files to and from popular file formats, as well as archive files to various media, CFX supports Contex, Scitex R300, Scitex Handshake, Scitex RMX, Hell native, Crosfield, DDES, DS Screen, TIFF, Illustrator, Photoshop, CT2T, and Centaurfax Centaurlink (the older Scantronix scanner link). CFX can run on existing Contex licensed SGI stations, and can also run on non-Contex stations, for example, a Barco Creator station. The user could select a group of TIFF files that were color corrected in Creator, and convert them to Contex CT files, then send them to the Contex station, alleviating the Contex operator from doing this. CFX supports archive media including; DAT, 9track, Exabyte, QIC, hard disk, shuttle, SMD (Highwater interface to Hell 300Mb disk)
