The Contex DotBox is a family of high performance screening stations which drive a variety of popular PostScript imagesetters and recorders. Files from Contex Prepress are sent to the Contex DotBox screening station over a fast hardwired network at which point the Contex DotBox will generate screen frequencies and dots selected by the operator for any variety of print applications.
There is a PostScript Level 2 RIP available on the DotBox which will directly receive desktop PostScript files and process them through the same screening technology. This will allow for a dual path workflow...from Contex to the imagesetter or from a desktop PostScript file directly to the imagesetter.
Imagesetters supported include Linetype-Hell, ECRM, and Agfa.
