Sort/Merge/Select/Report
COSORT is a high performance sort package for UNIX-based platforms. Many times faster than system sorts, COSORT provides a drop-in replacement, for /bin/sort mainframe sort translation and reporting language, and an English interactive/batch utility. Developers can call COSORT into C, COBOL and FORTRAN applications.
COSORT accepts files of any size and data type, records to 32,768 bytes with any number of fixed or floating keys. User exists allow special input, compare and output criteria. An I/O-reducing coroutine makes sorted records immediately available to calling programs. Resource tuning facilities maximize sort throughput.
