eXceed/Xpress - this 32-bit PC X server allows PC, laptop, and notebook users to remotely access X Window System applications and hosts (UNIX, VMS, etc.) over standard telephone lines, using a modem, or directly via RS-232C serial connection. eXceed/Xpress is ideal for those working from home or in the field. As a high performance product designed specifically to manage the increased bandwidth requirements of remote connections to X Window System networks and hosts, eXceed/Xpress offers outstanding interactive text and graphics performance. This X server utilizes data compression/decompression procedures, providing serial communication far surpassing that of traditional methods, such as SLIP and PPP. eXceed/Xpress is included with eXceed 4 for Windows, or may be purchased separately for the Windows environment. eXceed/Xpress is also available for Windows NT and OS/2 based PCs. eXceed/Xpress includes Hummingbird's X Development Kit for local X application development. Hummingbird's Xpress Host software, supplied in binary format for various host systems, is required.
