GUARDIAN enhances access control for 20 versions of Unix, and provides comprehensive security management for all sizes of systems, including complex heterogeneous networks. Some of GUARDIAN's features include: automatic generation of millions of passwords with format controls (including FIPS-181); valid and invalid password dictionaries that permit editing; password aging; login time windows with automatic logoff options; access control via modem lines, remote hosts, and specified ports; additional validation for 'rlogin', 'telnet', and 'rsh' access attempts; alarm scripts; account inactivation after a selected number of invalid login attempts; and a wide array of detailed account and auditing reports.
