Essential Communications' non-blocking HIPPI switch; the EPS-10XX provides up to 16 full duplex, 800 mega bit per second ports. HIPPI (High Performance Parallel Interface) is the industry's ANSI standard for high band width networking in both system-to-system and system to peripheral environments. The EPS-10XX supports both parallel (copper) and serial (fiber) connections. Serial HIPPI supports distances of 10 kilometers on single mode and 500 meters on multi-node fiber optic cables.
