Acoustetron II is a stand-alone system that provides Crystal River's AudioReality 3-D sound to the entire line of SGI machines. AudioReality brings 3-D environments to life by simulating sound as it happens in the real worl: true 3-D localization, reflections off of surfaces in the environment, motion of sound sorces and listener, Doppler shifts, distance delay and absorption. Additionally, functions such as pitch shifting, sound file looping, and user selectable output device (speakers, or headphones/headmounted displays) are provided. The Acoustetron II is supported by all major 3-D simulation tool kits (including Coryphaeus Easy Scene, Division DVise, and Sense8 WorldToolKit).
