V-PORT, Video Otput for the Silicon Graphics Indy, completes the Silicon Graphics Indy platform by providing a broadcast quality, video output on a single-width GIO plug-in card. Indy generated video and animations can be outputted (print-to-tape) directly to a videotape recorder in either NTSC or PAL broadcast formats for videotape distribution or for broadcast. Both composite and S-VHS component video output formats are simultaneously available from V-PORT. Built-in digital signal processing reduces objectionable artifacts that are often produced when a computer generated image is trranslated into a broadcast video format.
Featgures include:
* Broadcast quality NTSC or PAL video output.
* Composite and S-VHS component video outputs.
* Video output may be gen-locked to an external video signal or operate as the master video source.
* Supports multiple, digital video formats (4:2:2 YUV, 4:4:4 YUV and 4:4:4 RGB).
* Supports both CCIR601 and square pixel image formats. Provides full, NTSC or PAL screen resolution.
* Provides 8 - bit alpha channel blending.
* 132 MBytes/second DMA data transfer--a full screen update requires 12ms.
* Digital signal processing to remove objectionable video artifacts.
* Silicon Graphics GIO-32 bus interface, single-wide card.
