Reflex is an object-oriented building modeling and management system developed by the originators of the Sonata system. Written entirely in C++, Reflex enables building designers to develop their ideas into dynamic three dimensional prototype which can be analysed for constructability, aesthetics, functionality and cost of then refined before construction details are produced from its database. Reflex incorporates several new techniques to enhance presentations like moving objects and sound effects which gives designers and their clients the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a building before a brick is laid. Doors, for example, can be opened by the touch of a handle, lifts rise and fall to any desired level and lights can be switched on and off. Realism is further enhanced by sound effects such as those emitted by people, plant and machinery.
