TFS is a packet filtering Firewall which combines proxy servers. TFS filters every packet it receives and checks the packet, including source and destination IP addresses and ports, the service being requested, and the time the packet is received. The packet is reviewed by a user defined rule based authorization program and is either accepted or denied access. Pre-set times can be established as to when services are permitted, both for internal and external users. Rules are created and maintained using a Motif interface. TFS includes a comprehensive reporting system of network traffic and service requests. Optinal ftp, http, finger, news, gopher, telnet proxies which can hide internal or non registered addresses from the Internet are available.
