Software Moguls' SM-arch® 3.1 is a backup and retrieval system for heterogeneous networks through single-point control. The system includes remote backup device support for tape/optical jukeboxes with multiple simultaneous backups. Also provided are interleaving; device independence point and click file retrieval; and OpenLook, Motif and character and command line interfaces. A front and back end scripting feature allows interfacing with other applications. The backup format is TAR compatible and fast retrieval is through QFA. Running on various UNIX platforms (SGI, Sun, HP, RS/6000, DEC Ultrix, SCO), the system supports both UNIX and non-UNIX clients such as PCs, Mac and VAX systems.
