SoftNet Utilities

SoftNet Utilities is an Ethernet-based NetWare server emulator for UNIX platforms. It provides three types of IPX-based services: 1) without inhibiting existing TCP/IP or other native capabilities, UNIX platforms can also emulate Novell 3.x and 4.x NetWare servers to PC clients, 2) DOS/Windows-based terminal emulation, and 3) bi-directional UNIX/Novell printer sharing. NetWare PC's load only one protocol (IPX) to access the UNIX platform's resources as a Novell client as well as conduct terminal sessions to the UNIX hosts; TCP/IP is not required at the PC. Administering SoftNet Utilities is performed using existing PC-based NetWare admin utilities (i.e. syscon, pconsole, etc.). SGI IRIX 4.0.5 and later are supported.
