Platte River Associates has been developing basin modelling software since 1985. It is best known for its program BasinMod, a remarkably flexible, easy-to-use modelling program. The program calculates geohistory, thermal history maturation, pressure, hydrocarbon generation and expulsion. Optional modules provide mapping and cross section capabilities, links with external databases and grids, as well as specialized capabilities such as Fission Track Analysis. BasinMod 1-D® operates on SGI workstations under X-Windows and OSF/Motif.
