SIMULINK® Fixed-Point Blockset

The Fixed-Point Blockset is a collection of special purpose blocks for use with SIMULINK®. These blocks enable users to build fixed-point models of discrete-time dynamic systems and simulate the effects of fixed-point arithmetic. Both unsigned and two's complement 8-, 16-, and 32-bit words are supported. During simulation, users can change data types allowing one to immediately see the effects of different word sizes, binary-point locations, rounding vs. truncation, and overflow checking. The blocks can be configured to automatically locate the bindary-point during simulation to give maximum precision without overflow. Users can also quickly toggle between fixed-point and floating-point computations.
