PRESTO is a comprehensive package for the manipulation of series of protein sequences. It incorporates a novel extension of the Neddlemand and Wunsch algorithm for the rapid alignment of such sequences, as well as methods for investigating the progress of evolution in a series of aligned homologous sequences.
