Ciprico's Spectra 6900 provides a RAID system optimized for large file transfer operation by using the SCSI-3 (UltraSCSI) interface. Sustained transfer rates, even with a drive failure, or nearly 35 MB/s can be achieved with a single SCSI channel. Hot-swap drives and optional rebundant load-sharing power supplies are available. The 6900 is offered with 8 data drives, providing capabilities of 8 - 34 GB.
The Spectra 6900 includes GUI-based utilities to facilities monitoring and configuring of the array. For the Indigo 2, a GIO-to-Ultra SCSI adapters is included providing improved performance over the standard system SCSI port.
