Ciprico's Spectra 6700 provides a RAID system optimized for large file transfer operation, so typical of applications found in visual computing. Sustained transfer rates, even with a drive failure, of nearly 19 MB/s can be achieved. Hot-swap drives and optional redundant load-sharing power supplies are available. The 6700 is offered with either 4 or 8 data drives, providing capacities of 8 - 34 GB. The Spectra 6700 includes GUI-based utilities to facilities monitoring and configuring of the array. For the Indigo 2, a GIO-to-SCSI f/w adapter is available providing improved performance over the standard system SCSI port.
