The TouchMaster from EXOS is a non-reactive, tactile feedback system specifically designed for use in virutal environments (VE) for experimentation. Tactile feedback is implemented in the TouchMaster with a set of voice-coil displays which provide variable-frequency in the range of 50Hz to 200Hz, and variable amplitude vibrotactile stimulation to each finger or body part. The displays are driven through an EXOS TouchMaster electronics unit which may be controlled through a digital output card from a PC. The TouchMaster can be used in conjunction with the EXOS Dexterous HandMaster.
