AdaCAST is a Computer Aided Software Test (CAST) tool designed exclusively for testing Ada language components. This compiler and platform specific productivity tool provides automatic test code generation (Harness consisting of drivers and stubs) necessary to perform unit-level testing. In addition to test harness construction, AdaCAST provides utilities to: construct and manage test case development, execute test cases, and report execution results. AdaCAST is geared to the company doing testing under (DOD-STD-2167a) or (RTCA, DO178A/B) type contracts. The benefits recognized with its use are reduced costs due to productivity. AdaCAST was originally intended as a developer's productivity tool but is used by IV&V organizations and independent test groups as well.
