NobleNet® client-server development tools use remote procedure call (RPC) technology to simplify client-server programming. RPC technology represents interactions between clients and servers as procedure calls across a network. Programmers are familiar with procedural coding and easily understand and use remote procedure calls. NobleNet RPC programming tools provide client-server connectivity for applications running on DOS/Windows, NetWare and Unix systems. The multi-platform middleware tools work in both ONC/RPC and TI/RPC environments, and, from a common code base, will generate code for either environment. RPC's generated include: Synchronous, Nowait, BAtch, Callback, Broadcast, Datagram and Virtual Forking, and allow passing of complex data types.
