WSD/XLS is ideal for 3D computer graphics, animations, gameware,
compositing, entertainment authoring, post-production and scientific
visualization applications.
WSD/XLS stores 62 seconds of high-quality CCIR 601 (D1) video. Image
transfers from the computer to the WSD/XLS are via Ethernet or SCSI
digital formats. WSD/XLS provides full motion playback of digital
images, for real time video preview.
WSD/XLS records component analog (RGB/Betacam) and digital serial
video formats in real time. Recording video to the WSD/XLS digitizes
the material into frames, appropriate for transfer to the computer.
WSD/XLS provides Fast 100BaseT Ethernet and Ultra SCSI-3, for
incredibly FAST image transfers and remote machine control
functionality. Ethernet and SCSI commands are scriptable to automate
the transfer process.
WSD/XLS offers the GIO bus I/F option, a proprietary high-speed
interface designed for Indy and Indigo2 Impact workstations providing
very fast digital image transfers with automatic RGB-YUV conversion.
TThe WSD/XLS GIO bus interface provides full resolution and real-time
playback of images from the WSD/XLS to the workstation monitor for
previewing.
WSDVCP is user-friendly software interface providing control of the
WSD/XLS from a Silicon Graphics workstation via Ethernet, SCSI or the
GIO bus.
WSDVCP features batch image transfers, an image browser utility with
preview, VTR control plus frame accurate editing capability, preview
edits, VTR timecode reporting, and much more!
The latest WSDVCP features include Virtual Disk for automating edits
of any duration from the computer to a VTR, and Edit List for
creating multiple edit sequences. These new features provide
automatic image transfers and VTR edits without complicated script
writing.
