Bulldog provides a company-wide portfolio of all enterprise assets -- images, sound, graphics, video and alphanumerics -- and allows for the efficient and secure sharing, search, retrieval, registration and re-purposing of these properties. • Mapping Assets Against Workflow -- By integrating digital assets with enterprise workflow, project managers can utilize resources more effectively by tracking status of projects, allocating tasks according to skill sets of users and retrieving and re-purposing assets at any stage. • Automatic Indexing for Easy Search/Retrieval -- The solution replaces the complex and inconsistent naming of assets with automatic indexing, allowing for the easy search, retrieval and re-purposing of existing digital assets. Digital media assets are automatically indexed to the particular function and project, thus eliminating the need for training users on indexing schemes, and more importantly, the frustrations encountered in deciphering users' individual filing systems. Documentation such as copyrights, trademarks, and licensing agreements can also be attached to assets.
• Personalized Templates -- Templates allow the system to be easily personalized for specific enterprise functions, rather than having the functions customized to fit the system. Templates are adaptable to various levels within an enterprise, allowing assets to flow automatically through companies of any size or structure. Task and project templates can be re-purposed allowing the project manager to re-use existing templates for similar projects.
• Time Travel -- Every version of an asset is automatically stored in the system, creating a road map of the production process and allowing any version to be accessed at any time, thus reducing the time wasted looking for previous versions or re-creating lost or over-written versions.
• Application-Independent Access -- Any user within or outside the enterprise can view a thumbnail image of each digital asset, without the requirement of the application in which the asset was created.
• Integration with Additional Enterprise Processes -- At its highest level, Bulldog allows for the integration of media asset management with other enterprise processes such as accounting, legal, inventory management and e-mail.

Bulldog Software is available directly from Bulldog. The application currently runs under Windows NT on the Silicon Graphics WebFORCE^TM Media and Silicon Graphics CHALLENGE® servers, with other platforms to follow. Client platforms include Silicon Graphics' IRIX^TM 5.3, Windows 95, Windows NT and Macintosh operating systems. Vesion 2.0 of the media asset management solution will be available Fall 1996.
