Kern River
Texaco conducted oil exploration throughout the Kern River in Bakersfield, California. Using 3D visualization techniques to characterize the rock properties of the reservoir, scientists were able to navigate through the subsurface and determine where the oil was compartmentalized amid layers of sediment, organic matter, and water.
