History

Editora Graficos Burti was founded by Luiz Carlos Burti in 1976. Prior to founding the company, Burti had been in the printing business for 12 years as a specialized liaison linking printers, suppliers, and advertising firms. During the 1980s, Burti broke new ground in the area of prepress. At the time, the biggest challenge in the industry was the incompatibility between film generation and printing. Burti, who is now managing chairman, solved this problem by adding film generation capabilities within his own printing company. Its plants are selected for high-volume and high-quality jobs such as sales material, institutional leaflets, catalogues, annual reports for banks, government material, historical books, and art catalogs. Editora Graficos Burti employs more than 1,300 people at four plants in Sao Paulo, Santa Isabel, Campinas, Rio de Janeiro, and a U.S. office in New York. Today, it is the largest prepress company in Brazil, and reports more than $100 million in annual revenues.
