xmcd-2.4: description + notes

xmcd only allows you to play audio through the cdrom's built-in headphone jack, but it is still immensely useful because of the album and track title database that is accessed from www.cddb.com. The database will work if you have either direct or http proxy access to the Internet.

SECURITY DISCLOSURE: xmcd contains 2 setrootid programs. Please read the README for details, but the security risks are minimal.

SECURITY DISCLOSURE 2: xmcd creates several world-writable directories, so that the local cddb database can be added to by any user. The directories are under /usr/freeware/lib/X11/xmcd/cddb/*, and making these directories read-only will have no ill effect on the operation of xmcd, and will still allow users to fetch entries from the network database.
