The CD Database Manager is an add-on program to EasyCD2 that allows you to view, edit, and export the CD entries found in the EasyCD2 CD database. 1.2 - Important Notes For Previous Users To support the functions of the CD Database Manager, there have been a couple of changes to EasyCD2 since version 2.1. The most important change is that EasyCD2 now stores the CD's time information in the Registry along with the title information. Previous versions of EasyCD2 did NOT store time information in the Registry. If the times are displayed as "0m 00s" and "0:00" in the CD Database Manager for a particular CD, this means that you have not played this CD using EasyCD2 v2.2. Just exit the CD Database Manager insert the CD in question and after EasyCD2 starts to play the CD, just exit EasyCD2 and restart the CD Database Manager. The times should then be displayed and available for export. Registry entries are automatically updated with the time information when you play each CD. 2 - CD Database Manager ------------------- 2.1 - CD List Area The main display for the CD Database Manager is the list of CD's that EasyCD2 has played and has title information for. The artist and title of the CD is display along with the Windows ID for the CD. Please note: The Windows ID is NOT the same as the cddb ID. 2.2 - File Pulldown Menu 2.2.1 - Select All This options selects all CD entries listed. This can be used if you want to export the entire contents of the EasyCD2 database. 2.2.2 - Export Selected Title(s) Displays the Export Selected Entries dialog. Please see below for more information on the export function. 2.2.3 - Exit Exits the CD Database Manager (you've got to be kidding). 2.3 - Edit Pulldown Menu 2.3.1 - Edit Selected Title Displays the Edit CD Information dialog. Please see below for more information on the edit dialog. 2.3.2 - Remove Selected Title(s) Select this to remove the selected titles from the EasyCD2 database. A confirmation dialog will be displayed before the entries are deleted. 2.4 - Help Pulldown Menu The only help available is really no help. It's the standard 'About' dialog for a Windows application. 3 - Export Selected Entries Dialog ------------------------------ EasyCD2 exports the CD entries in it's database to TWO comma delimited text files. The file 'cdinfo.txt' contains the CD ID, artist, title, and total runtime. The file 'trackinfo.txt' contains the CD ID, track titles, and lengths for all tracks. An example of the output is shown below. From 'cdinfo.txt': Disc ID, Artist, Title, Length "12C1B46","10,000 Maniacs","Our Time In Eden",48:37 "2BEEFCD","ABBA","Gold",77:11 "F2368B","Ace of Base","The Sign",45:50 "135A7B0","","Alanis Morissette",57:31 "96B70B","Arlo Guthrie","Alice's Restaurant",35:14 "A25858","Asia","Asia",44:24 "12D148E","Bangles","Greatest Hits",48:27 "11A5371","Barbra Streisand","A Collection; Greatest Hits...And More",51:22 "132A0F2","Beastie Boys","Paul's Boutique",53:11 "142D71E","Beatles","Past Masters, Vol. II",51:03 "9EFF04","Billy Joel","52nd Street",40:30 From 'trackinfo.txt': Disc ID, Number, Name, Length "12C1B46",1,"Noah's Dove",4:31 "12C1B46",2,"These Are Days",3:42 "12C1B46",3,"Eden",4:09 "12C1B46",4,"Few and Far Between",3:16 "12C1B46",5,"Stockton Gala Days",4:22 "12C1B46",6,"Gold Rush Brides",3:25 "12C1B46",7,"Jezebel",4:02 "12C1B46",8,"How You've Grown",3:41 "12C1B46",9,"Candy Everybody Wants",3:08 "12C1B46",10,"Tolerence",4:16 "12C1B46",11,"Circle Dream",3:27 "12C1B46",12,"If You Intend",3:05 "12C1B46",13,"I'm Not the Man",3:24 "2BEEFCD",1,"Dancing Queen",3:52 "2BEEFCD",2,"Knowing Me, Knowing You",4:02 "2BEEFCD",3,"Take a Chance on Me",4:04 "2BEEFCD",4,"Mamma Mia",3:33 "2BEEFCD",5,"Lay All Your Love On Me",4:34 "2BEEFCD",6,"Super Trouper",4:14 "2BEEFCD",7,"I Have A Dream",4:44 "2BEEFCD",8,"The Winner Takes It All",4:55 "2BEEFCD",9,"Money, Money, Money",3:08 4 - Edit CD Information Dialog -------------------------- You can enter the CD artist name and the title of the CD in this dialog. 5 - How to Contact GHL Software --------------------------- E-Mail greg@ghlsoftware.com WWW http://www.ghlsoftware.com/ Snail-Mail Greg Leichner, GHL Software 1205A Vicente Dr. Sunnyvale, CA 94086 USA 6 - Disclaimer ---------- THE INFORMATION, CODE AND EXECUTABLES PROVIDED ARE PROVIDED AS IS WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
