Leonardo Rufo 345 Lassen Street Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 461-0595 I am a native of New York, but migrated to Oregon in 1979. While I had done extensive work building model kits, making scratch-built models, sculpting and painting, I set that aside to attend the University of Oregon. In 1990 I graduated with a B.A. in Architecture. Choosing not to pursue this field, I returned to model-making. I expanded my artwork to include full scenes, a diorama which could be hung as a picture. I dubbed this art form "3D Painting." Showing this work mostly at science fiction and fantasy conventions around the Northwest, I have won numerous awards, including Best of 3D, Best Science Fiction, and Best of Show. I have also had my artwork displayed in the Wizards Gallery in Kirkland, Washington, in the Mayor's Art Show (Eugene, Oregon), and in the Salon des Refuses (also in Eugene). Putting realistic detail on the figures and scenery, and using light and shadow to create depth in my art pieces, the 3D paintings tend to draw large crowds wherever they are shown. My artwork has been written up in many newspapers, including the SEATTLE TIMES and the REGISTER-GUARD (Eugene). I have also worked as Prop Master, Model Maker, and Set Designer for a number of locally-produced movies. Although I have been offered work in Hollywood as a model maker, I prefer the lifestyle of an Oregonian. I will continue to show my art in the film and video industry.
