A New Approach to Brick Samples from Baggeridge
Company: Baggeridge Brick

Baggeridge become the first UK brick manufacturer to differ in its approach to samples by announcing today a new addition to the way it responds to customer's future product sample requests.

Effective from 2nd December 2002, Baggeridge is aiming to improve the quality and consistency of the sampling options available to the market place - by adding a new system that presents products better, and is more environmentally friendly.  Whilst continuing to supply slip panels in the standard 6-9 no. brick format where necessary and 60 no. brick built sample walls for final selection, Baggeridge hopes to meet a wider range of customer requirements by extending its choice of sample types.

Mark Morris, National Sales Manager, of Baggeridge comments: "The current panel system does not always present products in their best light.  They can become damaged during transit to a potential or existing customer with cracked or displaced slip bricks, simply because they are heavy, cumbersome items to transport.  This provides no benefit to any brick manufacturer in promoting the use of brick as the preferred product of choice within the construction market."

Taking the lead in the industry, Baggeridge's additional system consists of a 30cm x 40cm in size presentation box with clear branding on the outside and the brick name on the spine for storage process.

Inside, the box contains a high quality photo panel detailing the product in a standard bond pattern and an actual plain brick slip. If the brick is a multi or a brindle colour, then two slips will be included.

"In this way, the product is better presented and is lighted to dispatch, minimising damage during transportation," Mark continues. "It will also be easier to carry around and, because the boxes are designed to be kept for future reference, we hope the system will result in less wastage overall.  This should make the whole process much more environmentally friendly in line with the industry's principles of sustainability. The sample boxes have already been trialed amongst specifiers and planners and the response has been very positive."
