Programming
has always been something that the rest of us prefer to associate
with darkened rooms and pimply-faced youths sporting software
branded t-shirts and caps with propellors on top. Not so any
more, assuming this was ever the case. You see, as Bob Dylan
would say, the times they are a'changing.
This
month's CD One feature DarkBASIC is a programmer's application
environment for the rest of us. Learn to develop complex 2D
and 3D games on your own and impress your friends. There are
heaps of examples you can use to get you started and you'll
find Basic to be a friendly and relatively easy language to
learn. So what are you waiting for? Get coding!

Create
Amazing 3D Games with a program that speaks your Language! The future
of gaming is about to change forever with the launch of DarkBASIC.
DarkBASIC is a programming language that enables you to write games
with ease resulting in amazing 3D and 2D graphics and superb sound.
Using only the simplest of commands you are presented with all of
the tools required to create games of a commercial standard. With
just this little application, lots of enthusiasm, and some imagination
the world of games development and riches can soon be at your fingertips!
DarkBASIC is the Gateway to the programming industry. DarkBASIC
is an incredibly easy to use package, producing astounding results
quickly. At ú39.99 it represents unrivalled value in both features
and results. Its suitability for beginners is guaranteed due to
its implementation of the BASIC language.
BASIC;
the simplest and easiest of all programming languages allows totally
inexperienced indivduals to get to grips with the fundamentals of
programming without becoming frustrated. Yet professional coders
will find a language so powerful, so flexible that the results will
leave their jaws firmly on the floor! This program is a confidence
booster for the inexperienced and eliminator of restrictions for
the programmer who can utilise DARKBASIC to singularly create an
entire game.
DarkBASIC
gives you the creative freedom to develop state of the art games
without having the encompassing knowledge of a trained programmer
nor the understanding of complex computer languages such as C++
or assembly. DarkBASIC's built in debugging facility further reduces
reliance on programming experience.
It
is very common that a single command can bring an entire program
to a frustrating halt. DarkBASIC however, provide a unique built
in feature called CLI (Command Line Interface) allowing the user
to type out a single command and run instantly - the results of
which are displayed on screen saving valuable coding time and maintaining
the flow of creativity.
Comparing
the results of DarkBASIC to commercially released titles might seem
a bit risky and some would even go as far as suggesting it to be
just excessive hype. Well, go and take a look for yourselves, as
there are many titles currently in production that will both shock
and impress. DarkBASIC
is nothing less than a revolution in games development.
The
CD contains over 400MB of game examples, may of which have the source
code included. See the README file in - PCA1_08\SOFTWARE\DEMOS\
