The Dr. Donald L. and Dorothy Jacobs Gallery, Georgetown College

The Jacobs Gallery at Georgetown College displays the fine art collection of Dr. Donald L. and Dorothy Jacobs. It includes international, national, and regional works by contemporary artists.

Scott CountyDr. and Mrs. Jacobs moved to Central Kentucky in 1987 after raising a family and running a practice in general surgery. According to Dr. Jacobs, they chose Scott County because of their love of horses and the landscape, and that love for beauty can be seen in the art they’ve collected over the years. They are interested in the work of established artists—such as Andrew Wyeth, Jean Dubuffet, Robert Rauschenberg, and Judy Pfaff—as well as that of artists from the region, such as Arturo Sandoval, Daniel Ludwig, and John Tuska. Their gift to the college allows students, teachers, and the broader community to enjoy works from their incredible collection. The Kentucky Virtual Art Museum includes 12 works from this collection.

The gallery is located in the Ensor Learning Resource Center on the Georgetown College campus. Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from noon to 4:30 pm and Sunday from 1:30 to 4:00 pm (ET). The collection can also be viewed online.
