Subject: The Philadelphia Experiment (2/3) From: an170476@anon.penet.fi Date: Mon, 30 Jan 1995 20:43:32 UTC "QUESTION: In the case of the Philadelphia Experiment is there a fairly simple scientific explanation as to what took place? "'ANSWER: To my knowledge there is no explanation in terms of the familiar or orthodox. Many scientists now share the opinion that the basic ATOMIC STRUCTURE is essentially electric (i.e. 'electron') in nature rather than materially particulate. A vastly complicated interplay of energies is involved. Such a broad concept lends great flexibility to the universe. If multiple phases of matter within such a cosmos did NOT exist, it would be most surprising. The transition from one phase to another would be equivalent to the passage from one plane of existence to another--a sort of interdimensional metamorphosis. In other words, there could be 'worlds within worlds.' (Note: Human beings actually DO exist on both the physical and spiritual levels simultaneously, in that we have attached to our souls both a physical and a spiritual 'body'. It is apparent that man is a 'multi-dimensional' being who is capable of 'sensing' a wide range of the 'electromagnetic' reality spectrum. Much of what we consider to be exclusively 'physical' senses such as feeling, intuition, sight, hearing, tough, thought, etc., are a COMBINATION of the result of interaction of our physical and spiritual natures. Just because one has a 'spiritual' nature however does not mean that they have 'Life' in the Judeo- Christian sense of spiritual 'life'. The triune nature of man's physical, soul and spirit 'bodies' which are distinct in themselves yet at the same time superimposed upon one another and inseparable from one another in an underlying sense, act as 'vessels' for either Life-Goodness-Love or Death-Evil-Hatred. Many have been confused by the idea that because something or someone is 'spiritual' it/they must therefore be 'Good'. This is not necessarily the case, since some may consider the Philadelphia Experiment as a 'spiritual', 'supernatural' or 'ethereal' event even though some of the motives and certainly many of the effects of the experiments were less that 'Divinely' inspired - Branton) Magnetism has long been suspect as an involvement agent in such potentially drastic changes. To begin with, IT HAPPENS TO BE THE ONLY INANIMATE PHENOMENON FOR WHICH WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CONCEIVE A MECHANICAL ANALOGUE. We can visualize electrons traveling along a conductor and thus 'explain' electric current, or we can envisage energy waves of different frequencies in the ether and thus 'explain' the heat-light-radio spectrum (Note: Another 'mystery' which we might mention at this point is that 'light' in itself is made up of THREE waves which collectively form the ONE energy source known as 'Light'. One ray is invisible, one is visible, and one can be felt! Those with discernment will be able to see yet another fascinating 'mystery' in this three-in-one phenomena. Also, 'Light' has a duel nature in that it acts as a 'PARTICLE' as well as a 'WAVE', and as the 'Unified Field' suggests many of these energies such as time, light, gravity, electricity, magnetism, space, matter, etc., flow into each other and interplay with each other to a remarkable degree - Branton). But a magnetic field defies a mechanical interpretation. THERE IS SOMETHING ALMOST MYSTICAL ABOUT IT. Furthermore, whenever we encounter incredible (to us) materialization and dematerialization, as in UFO phenomena, they seem to be accompanied by severe magnetic disturbances. It is, therefore, reasonable to suppose that a purposeful genesis of unusual magnetic conditions could effect a change or PHASE in matter, both physical and vital. If so, it would also DISTORT the time element which is by no means an independent entity, but part-in-parcel of the particular matter-energy-time dimension such as the one we live in.' "QUESTION: If this is the result of intensification of magnetism, are there, in your opinion, intensified magnetic fields sporadically active or 'on the loose' in the Triangle? "'ANSWER: I believe that this is unquestionably the case (Note: Some believe the Bermuda Triangle area may once have been part of an experiment that went out of control on an ancient continent inhabited by Antediluvians who discovered the secret of 'culturing' huge crystal generators to produce tremendous electromagnetic energy fields. The 'Triangle' is believed by many to be an area of intense 'electromagnetic fallout' still active after thousands of years - Branton). Either the magnetic fields are the result of sporadic, perhaps seasonal build-up of geophysical origin, or they are the concomitant effect of UFO activity. Possibly a combination of both agencies can occur. Another important aspect to consider is the likelihood of magnetic, cyclonic storms initiated by either condition. Like the tornado, the magnetic vortex would be self-augmenting and could well bring about an interdimensional transition for anyone caught up in it. The experience of Bruce Gernon (mentioned in Berlitz' book - Branton) is a case in point.' "...Whether the Philadelphia Experiment actually took place or not is difficult to prove. The concept, however, is a valid one, having been perhaps suggested or supported by Einstein's 'unified field' theory, an attempt logically to bring together the magnetic and gravitational fields and other subatomic phenomena. In application both to the Philadelphia Experiment and the Bermuda Triangle, the attraction between molecules could be temporarily altered by a force field. It would, in effect, introduce matter into another dimension or, one might say, the etheric world. Such force fields comprise both the cause and effect of the transmutation and transference of matter. If this seems impossible or illogical, one might reflect that another seemingly impossible theory of Einstein and others have modified our lives and physical outlook since 1945 to the point where those of us who lived before that time would hardly recognize our former personalities, so secure in our dominion of the earth and understanding our section of the universe..." Ivan T. Sanderson, in his book 'UNINVITED VISITORS', gives a few more details concerning the Philadelphia Experiment as well as the mysterious 'annotators' mentioned by Charles Berlitz: "...From the language and style of the inserts, the Office of Naval Research (ONR) speculated that the annotators may be gypsies. They found the book sufficiently interesting to re- publish it three years later in a limited mimeographed edition in two colors--black for the original text, red for the notes, interjections, underscoring, and the like. The notes discussed people, planes, and ships that have disappeared; the origins of odd storms and clouds, objects falling from the sky, and strange marks and footprints; and other puzzling events and phenomena that we have not been able to explain. 'It is evident,' concluded the introduction to the Navy's mimeographed edition 'that these men provide some very intriguing explanations; explanations that may be worthy of consideration...' "Gypsies are now scattered all over the world. Nobody has ever come up with any satisfactory information as to their origin--at least, not satisfactory to me. Some people say they wandered out of what is now India long ago. They have been called lost Ancient Egyptians, and goodness knows what else... We don't know much about their current culture, despite the massive studies of their folklore and customs that have been undertaken in Europe, this country, and elsewhere. As a kid I did a lot of poaching with some gypsies of my own age in the New Forest in England, and we had some fine rabbit stews," Sanderson confesses, "and spitted pheasants as a result; but my young friends, though never having been to school and being totally illiterate, always made me feel as if I were the only 'kid' among them, and that they were infinitely adult and wise (Note: Researcher John A. Keel has stated that there is a definite connection between some UFO sightings and 'gypsies' - Branton). They were, too! But the Western gypsies are relatively 'normal and respectable' compared to the Asiatic LULI. Since the dawn of history these bands of independent and completely self-contained people have wandered about at will over Asia, helping themselves to what they needed but never actually marauding or interfering with other people, and trading in all manner of psychedelic products, elixirs, drugs, and medicines, gazing into crystal balls--the origin of which, incidentally, has never been discovered--prophesying and reading palms. They have no written language, yet they seem to keep in touch over vast distances, even with their confreres in Europe and over the oceans. Subjected to a never-ending series of persecutions, they do truly just 'fade away' only to pop up again later apparently in no way changed. They learn the languages of the peoples among whom they dwell, and they often contend that they know no other..." * * * (INPUT 002) The following article: 'NEW FACTS ABOUT THE PHILADELPHIA EXPERIMENT REVEALED', by Sherry Hansen Steiger and Brad Steiger, appeared in UFO REVIEW magazine, and adds a considerable amount of new information to the revelations already given by Charles Berlitz: "Just when it seemed as through the bizarre mystery of Dr. M.K. Jessup, the so-called 'Allende Letters,' and the alleged U.S. Navy's World War II experiment in teleportation and invisibility had faded into the recesses of UFO mythology, Alfred Bielek, a researcher who I have personally known for twenty years, has stepped forward to declare that his memory - once 'brainwashed' - has cleared and that he now remembers having participated in the legendary 'Philadelphia Experiment.' "Bielek claims that the U.S. Navy, in October, 1943, successfully blended the collective genius of Albert Einstein, Nicola Tesla, and a host of other top scientists and SECRETLY ACCOMPLISHED the teleportation of a warship from Philadelphia to a dock near Norfolk. In a further extension of Einstein's Unified Field Theory, the Navy caused the same warship and its crew to become invisible. "Yes, Bielek asserts, the experiment was a success as far as the warship and the machinery were concerned. Tragically, for the crewmen, it was a terrible failure. Several of the crew burst into flames in spontaneous human combustion; others lapsed into invisibility; still others became frozen in the metal structure of the warship. Over half of the officers and crew members were committed to psychiatric wards for the remainder of their lives. "Once it seemed as though the only man who might be able to ferret out the truth of this fantastic experiment was Dr. Morris K. Jessup, an alleged suicide 'victim,' who was found dead in his station wagon in Dade County Park, Florida, on the evening of April 29, 1959. "Fully as horrifying as the deep-freeze effect on the sailors involved in the experiment were the incidents of men who went 'into the flame.' A man who was carrying a small boat compass went into the 'freeze' and began to smoulder. Perhaps, Allende theorized, because of the metal on his person. Another crewman went to his aid and began the laying on of hands. According to Allende, both men burned for eighteen days. "As a list of cross-references for his fantastic story, Allende listed a number of or personnel on observer ships' crews and the crew of a Matson Lines Liberty ship out of Norfolk. Allende implies that he himself witnessed the experiment from aboard the S.S. ANDREW FURNSETH. Indignantly Allende expressed his hope that Jessup may choke on his own tongue when he remembers what he has 'appealed be made law,' and he signs himself, 'Very disrespectfully yours.' "Then, seemingly to think better of his harsh statements, Allende affixed a lengthy postscript that states his reconsidered opinion that the Navy was quite blameless in the incident and really did not envision the ghastly effect the experiment would have upon the crew members. Before he closed, Allende tossed one more bombshell: "'The experimental ship disappeared from its Philadelphia dock and, only a very few minutes later, appeared at its other dock in Norfolk, Newport News, Portsmouth area. This was distinctly and clearly identified as being [the] place...the ship then, AGAIN disappeared and went back to it's Philadelphia dock in only a very few minutes. This was noted in the newspapers...after the experiments were discontinued....' "Authors Note: In 1967, through the efforts of a mutual friend, I obtained a copy of the annotated Jessup Book from Al Bielek, an action which subsequently has prompted the suspicious to suggest that Al is actually Miguel Allende in another guise. Such suspicions will be allayed (later on). "The three annotators were smug, a trifle arrogant, and made little effort to control their mockery of 'homo sapiens'. After a rapid assessment of the content, Dr. Jessup soon recognized the same crazy-quilt spelling, capitalization and punctuation that was characteristic of his mysterious pen pal, Carlos Miguel Allende. "The ONR requested the two Allende letters from Jessup, and twenty-five copies of the letters and the annotated copy of THE CASE FOR THE UFOS were reproduced for study by Naval Research teams. "Why did the Navy want the Allende letters? What elevated the letters above kook status? Had the experiment with the invisible ship actually been conducted? The three mystery note makers allude to the secret project a number of times. What elements in both the Allende letters and in the notes did ONR find so convincing and so alarming that immediate study groups were formed to deal with the puzzle? Let us examine a sampling of the notes made by Allende and his correspondents. (Each man wrote in a different color of ink and, on this basis, will be referred to as Mr. A. [Allende], Mr. B. and Jemi.) "Jessup begins part of THE CASE FOR THE UFOS by noting that, on June 24, 1947, flying saucers were 'born' with Kenneth Arnold's sighting near Mount Rainier (actually, documented sightings of unexplained aerial craft have been made since medieval times and even long before then. It was not until 1947 however that UFOs again reached a height of publicity that had not been experienced since the 'airship' sightings of 1900-1910 - Branton). Since that day, Jessup writes, thousands of other sightings have been made and the question 'What are they?' must still be answered. "'Don't worry, Jemi,' Mr. B. writes, referring to Arnold's sighting, 'those were L-M ships, not 'S' men ('LeMurians' and 'Serpent-Men'? This is only a guess, although the 'annotators' may have been referring to something completely different - Branton). They are in improved type and were only on a training flight. That is why their leader interconnected their force fields to teach them Level Telecontrol without inducing a fear block.' (Note: If true that they were on a 'training' flight, it's likely that this alien society was earth-based, possibly operating from subterrain or inner-mountain bases, as it is not likely that mere 'trainees' from another planet would take part in other-planetary operations - Branton) "In this enigmatic notion, we obviously have references to two types of 'people' who have conquered space. The 'LM's' seem to be friendly or indifferent to earthlings. The 'SM's' - the 'S' men mentioned above - are hostile. Allende and his correspondents seem either to be LM's or to regard the LM's more favorably than they do the SM's. "Jemi's comment on Jessup's discussion of mysterious disappearances of men is chilling, 'Hey! If he only knew why, he'd die of shock!' "An interesting unrelated notation scribbled by Mr. B on the top of the page reads: 'The French are of such a general philosophic attitude, even in that day, that they were chosen to be contacted. Now, some LM's live in France out of preference in field of philosophical study. They like it!' "Mr. A: 'Einstein wasn't alive then, but the natural functions of our universe and this planet worked quite well without him.' "Jemi: 'What inspiration caused man to become man by starting to use tools. Whence came the idea? Science says "of necessity," but the same necessity exists for apes...even now.' "Mr. A: 'Huh, he'll never admit it (that man is neither the completely dominant nor supremely intellectual being), pride!' "Jessup wonders if aviators could be frozen by space ships and carried away within a shield of invisibility. "Mr. B retorts: "Heh! If only he knew by experience he'd keep silent and not write or speak of it ever again in his lifetime. He couldn't speak it, for you see, Jemi, it paralyses one's sense of time and nullified mental cognition, functioning, and memory. So he has no knowledge, he could not have. Only guessing.' "As to Jessup's speculation that 'Russia may well have captured a UFO and be developing the resources gained therefrom...' Mr. B writes: 'Not so, or else she'd have cornered the world's diamond market by now as a dead giveaway that she's caught one. Takes a powerful magnetic net to do so.' (Note: Do 'some' disks require the use of diamond crystals to operate some of their systems? - Branton) "Mr. A: 'One with a reverse "snap neutralizer" in it.'" Steiger relates still another comment made by Mr. B in answer to one of the many points brought up by Jessup in his book, apparently in reference to some type of accident or incident: "'...The Measure-Marker was accidentally left idling that time. Nowadays, Measure-Markers are not used, except by Undersea-Explorers.' "And so," Steiger continues, "the notes continue throughout the pages of M.K. Jessup's (annotated) THE CASE FOR THE UFOS. Each page is marked with underlinings and notations made in three different colors of ink. In an introduction to their study of the Allende letters and the annotated (volume)... an officer of the Office of Naval Research wrote: "'Terms such as mothership, home-ship, dead-ship, Great ARK, great bombardment, great RETURN, great war, little-men, force- fields, deep freezes, undersea building, measure markers, scout ships, MAGNETIC and gravity fields, sheets of diamond, cosmic rays, force cutters, undersea explorers, inlay work, clear-talk, telepathing, burning 'coat', nodes, vortice, magnetic 'net', and what happens to people, ships and planes that have disappeared... They (the three men) explain the origin of odd storms and clouds, objects falling from the sky, strange marks and footprints, and other things we have not solved. "'These men seem to feel that it is too late for man to obtain space flight. They feel that man could not cope with 'those mind-wreaking conditions that space and sea contain', for mankind is too egotistical, values too much the material, wars over mere parcels of this planet, is too filled with jealousy, and lacks true brotherhood.'" "The ONR deduced that the men might be Gypsies. In one instance, Mr. B remarks, 'Only a Gypsy will tell another of that catastrophe. And we are a discredited people, ages ago. Hah! Yet, man wonders where 'we' come from...' Mr. A writes, 'Ours is a way of life, time-proven and happy. We have nothing, own nothing except our music and philosophy, and are happy.' Each of the men hails the other as 'brother' and sneers quite often at 'vain humankind.' "The officer at ONR concluded his introduction to the enigma by saying: 'How much truth is there in this? That cannot be answered. It is evident that these men provide some very intriguing explanations - explanations that may be worth consideration.' "First of all, why did the Navy receive the annotated copy of Jessup's THE CASE FOR THE UFOS? Was it simply to play some bizarre private joke on the Office of Naval Research? This answer seems unlikely. Let us theorize that the Navy DID accomplish a secret experiment which utilized Einstein's Unified Field Theory. In this case, the three mystery men might have been letting the Navy know that THEY knew. The Gypsies or saucer people or whoever, might also have been telling the Navy that they knew that naval research was CONTINUING experimentation. "As we learn more about our universe, it becomes increasingly difficult to close one's mind to the possibility of older atomic civilizations of either TERRESTRIAL or extraterrestrial origin which might have survived physically, by going UNDERGROUND, or spiritually, by commemoration in the myths and legends of today's man. "Could Carlos Miguel Allende and his two friends be representatives from a much older civilization which has been infiltrating our own for thousands of years? "Many of those who have attempted to pursue the Allende mystery have found themselves confronted by strange, dark-skinned men in black. A prominent UFO lecturer told me that a man claiming to be Carlos Miguel Allende had called upon him in his study and warned him to discontinue his research or 'wind up a "Suicide" like Dr. Jessup.' "One cannot help wondering what association there might be between the so-called 'men-in-black' who make a practice of silencing UFO researchers and Dr. Jessup's unknown correspondents (John A. Keel suggests this in other writings of his when he relates incidents of Men In Black or Black automobiles being observed in connection with Gypsy activity - Branton). Those who have been visited by the silencers have described their unwelcome guests as being short, dark, and dressed primarily in black. Such a description could fit 'Gitana' or those MASQUERADING as Gypsies. UFO investigators say that those contacted by the silencers describe their features as being somewhat Oriental in structure, with large slanted eyes and rather sharply pointed chins. "Similarly, the majority of those who claim contact with flying saucer crews describe much the same physical beings. Several abductees have offered similar descriptions. "After I had published an article on the Allende letters in SAGA (November, 1967) I began to receive a great deal of mail from those who claimed personal involvement in this bizarre aspect of the UFO mystery. "One letter implied that the writer had been a seaman aboard the vessel on which the alleged experiment had taken place. 'You would not write of this so objectively if you were forced to live with this horror,' the man wrote. "Several correspondents told of being harassed by ominous and effective 'agents' after they had witnessed UFO activity. "An interesting report of 'three women in black' was given by one correspondent, who had received his strange visitation after observing a large, gray disk in the sky over his suburban residence. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- To find out more about the anon service, send mail to help@anon.penet.fi.
