ÔHE ÇÅÏÓ ÉÄ STRING ("ÇÅÏÓ FORMAT Ö1.2", WHICH IS LOCATED AT POSITIONS 171-189 IN THE DIRECTORY HEADER) MUST BE OVERWRITTEN WITH ZEROES. ÁFTER CLEARING OUT THE ÉÄ STRING, RETURN TO THE DESKÔOP AND THEN CONVERT IT BACK TO A ÇÅÏÓ DISK. 3. ÅÒÒÏÒ ÒÅÁÄÉÎÇ ÄÉÒÅÃÔÏÒÙ ÐÁÇÅ #. ÔHIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM, BECAUSE ANY FILES ON THE DIRECTORY PAGE THAT HAD GONE BAD, AND ANY DIRECTORY PAGES AFTER THE BAD PAGE ARE NOW LOST. ÔO MAKE THE DISK USABLE AGAIN MAKE A NOTE OF THE "ÐREV ÔRACK AND ÐREV ÓECTOR" SUPPLIED BY ÓUPER ÖALIDATE 64/128. ×ITH A TRACK AND SECTOR EDITOR GO TO THE TRACK AND SECTOR YOU JUST MADE NOTE OF AND CHANGE THE FIRST TWO BYTES OF THE BLOCK TO $00,$FF. ÔHIS WILL END THE DIRECTORY AT THIS PAGE, ALLOWING YOU TO SAVE ALL FILES BEFORE THE BAD PAGE. 4. ÆÉÌÅÓ ÈÅÁÄÅÒ ÂÌÏÃË ÉÓ ÂÁÄ. ÉF THE FILE THAT HAD THIS ERROR IS AN APPLICATION OR DESK ACCESSORY, AND YOU HAVE OTHER COPIES OF THAT FILE, JUST DELETE THE FILE FROM THE DISK AND RUN IT THROUGH ÓUPER ÖALIDATE AGAIN. ÉF IT IS AN IMPORTANT DATA FILE THAT MUST BE SAVED, YOU CAN SAVE IT BY USING A HEADER BLOCK FROM ANOTHER DATA FILE OF THE SAME TYPE. ÅXAMPLE: ÉF YOU HAD A ÇEOÃALC FILE THAT HAD A BAD HEADER BLOCK, YOU COULD CREATE AN EMPTY FILE AND THEN LINK UP THE HEADER BLOCK FROM THE EMPTY FILE TO THE ONE WITH THE BAD HEADER BLOCK. 5. ÆÉÌÅÓ ÉÎÄÅØ ÒÅÃ ÉÓ ÂÁÄ. ×HEN THIS ERROR OCCURS TO A ÖÌÉÒ FILE, THE FILE IS LOST. ÄELETE IT AND RUN THE DISK THROUGH THE ÓUPER ÖALIDATE PROCESS AGAIN. 6. ÆÉÌÅÓ ÖÌÉÒ ÒÅÃ ÉÓ ÂÁÄ. ÉF THIS ERROR OCCURS ON A NON-DATA FILE, SUCH AS AN APPLICATION, THE FILE IS LOST. ÄELETE IT AND USE ÓUPER ÖALIDATE 64/128 ON THE DISK AGAIN. ÉF IT OCCURS ON A DATA FILE, THE FILE CAN BE PARTIALLY RECOVERED. ÍAKE A NOTE OF THE "ÐREV ÔRACK AND ÐREV ÓECTOR" FROM THE STATUS BOX WHEN THE ERROR WAS DETECTED. ÇO TO THIS BLOCK AND CHANGE THE THE FIRST 2 BYTES TO $00 $FF. ÔHIS WILL CUT OFF THE ERROR AND ALLOW YOU TO SAVE THE REMAINING DATA. ÎOTE THAT IF NO PREVIOUS TRACK AND SECTOR WAS GIVEN, THEN THE ENTIRE ÖÌÉÒ RECORD WAS BAD.
