Massacre at Magdeburg

The Luftwaffe has been on the run
and your bombers have been ranging
free over the Reich for quite some
time now. However, things may be
swinging the other way. The last 
few raids over Germany there have
been reports of new aircraft that
have phenomenal speeds joining the
intercepting packs of Luftwaffe
Fw190s. These planes are so fast
that the gunners report that the
power turrets aren't fast enough 
to track these new aircraft as 
they fly past.

             Mission Orders

You are the lead and low group in a
six plane formation of B17s. Your
mission starts over Oschersleben on
your way to your first waypoint and
your turn to the bomb run on 
Magdeburg. Your group will bomb three
targets in Magdeburg: the oil refinery
the engine factory, and the railroad
center. Your target as the lead group
is the oil refinery. As you approach
Magdeburg your group will split up
shortly to bomb their targets. You 
should fly due north and regroup at
a point about 4 miles north of the
city.

You will be escorted by P-51D fighters,
but be on your toes and have your guns
manned. The new weapon the Luftwaffe 
has is more than likely to make an
appearance.
