On April 2 in a  Jamestown, Calif., courtroom, Ellie Nesler shot and killed Daniel Driver, the man accused of sexually molesting her son and three other boys.
   Following the shooting, there was a surge of public support for Nesler against what many saw as a failed system of justice.
   During her trial, Nesler's attorneys argued that she was driven insane at the time of the shooting. However, a jury convicted her of manslaughter.
   While there was vigorous support for Nesler, critics said she had simply practiced "cowboy justice."
