M F D E M O D I S K I N S T R U C T I O N S -------------------------------------------------- **** WINDOWS USERS: This disk includes a Windows-based hypertext guide to all the software on the disk. We recommend that Windows users view the disk using the hypertext guide. To start the guide, run dr:win_demo where "dr" is the drive designator for the CD-ROM drive containing the demo disk. **** DOS USERS: The following products are DOS-compatible or have DOS-compatible demos: Memory Structures Library (MemSl) For C and C++ NOVLIB 3.0 Blinker 4.1 Shrinker 2.1 C-DOC Etherprobe Snooper FOR_C Fortran to C Translator General Software's System Software for Embedded & Consumer Electronics Simple Multi-tasking Executive (smx) and related products smxKey32 Demonstration To install these products (and other products) under DOS, locate the product's home directory using the list below and study the supplied documentation to determine how to perform the installation. In most cases, you will be able to run an install program which will copy the necessary files to your hard disk. In some cases you will need to perform the copy yourself using something equivalent to xcopy /e In a few cases, you will need to copy all the files from the CD-ROM to a floppy disk before you can being the install. In many cases, the software is zipped or otherwise archived. You may need to supply the appropriate programs to expand the archives after placing them on your hard drive. In many cases, there will be extraneous files (especially .hlp and other documentation files) in the product's home directory. These files were extracted from the various archives to make them available to the Windows hypertext guide. In all cases, the original archive file remains unchanged. **** PROBLEMS "FINDING" FILES Some programs will report that they can't find certain files (e.g. bitmap files, etc.) when run from the CD -- even though those files are clearly present. These errors are a side-effect of the program attempting to open the file with read/write permissions. Virtually all of these demos were developed for distribution via floppy, where asking for read/write permission when only read permission is required is an innocuous error. To make these programs run correctly, copy all files and subdirectories of the pertinent application to a hard-disk or floppy disk. **** PRODUCT DIRECTORIES Product Directory ----------------------------------------- Blinker \Blinker CDOC Professional \c-doc ChartPro \chartpro Competitive Position Market Report \compos1 Developer Source: A Quarterly CD-ROM for Developers \dsource DynamiCube 32-bit OCX \dynacube Eschalon Setup For Windows \esch95, \\esch3.x EtherProbe Ethernet Network Analyzer \gsidemo FOR_C FORTRAN to C Translator \cblue Graph Layout Toolkit \graphlay HTML Add-on \htmladd Image Gear DLL-32 Demo \gear Just Logic SQL Database Manager \logic Leadtools Image Handler For Windows \disk1 LPA Win-Prolog \prolog Memory Structures Library (MemSL) For C and C++ \windbase Noise-Rugged Speech Recognition \ctdemo NOVLIB \novlib Object Outline \bee Paige \paige Report Ease Plus \rptease Rich Text Grid \richtext RT/IP Portable TCP-IP Network Stack For Embedded Applications \smxnet RTXC Evaluation Kit \weval Salford C/C++ Demo Version \sscdemo ScriptEase \scptease Sentry Spelling Checker Engine \ssce Setup Factory \suf40ev SftColor \softel SftTabs/DLL \softel SftTree DLL \softel ShowBasic Tutorial/Demo/Training/ Presentation Dev.
