Diarywin is a daily diary / journal program. My father keeps a brief narrative on activities and events in each day. Kind of a personal history. His father, my grandfather, did it most of his life, and those journals now provide a well documented family history. Several years ago I wrote my father a QuickBasic program for DOS, so he could computerize his diary. Now I am attempting to get him to use Windows, and this is my Windows translation of his diary program. It is a very simple program, and is really as much a lesson for me as a tool for him. When first started, the program displays a screen with two empty sections and two command buttons. First, the "Add a Day" button is clicked, and a date appears in the column on the right. The date in the column is then clicked and text can then be entered in the box on the right. After entering information, the "Change Date Displayed" is clicked, and the text is saved in a file. This text can be changed also. Untill the change button is clicked, the information may be lost. The Options menu provides the ability to print a day's entry or copy it to the clipboard for use in another application. It also allows you key in a name or I.D which will appear in the title Bar, and a place to enter a 6 charac- ter password. That's a feature like the little lock I remember on my sister's diary when she was a teenager. This program may be freely distributed! Anyone is FREE to use this program, and I hope someone does. If you do find it nice, or useful, put a $1 bill (or the smallest bill in your currency) in an envelope and send it to: W.M. Allen 7510 East Grand Ave. #1109 Dallas, TX 75214 U.S.A. I will return an acknowlegement with praise for your good taste and great judgement. I am also including a simple Metric converter I wrote. Yesu ni mwokozi
